The “perfect” couple, Bae Yong Jun and Son Ye Jin
The Story: A lighting director (Bae Yong Jun) rushes to hospital when told of his wife’s car accident, only to be shattered by the news that she was in the car with her lover.
He meets her lover’s wife (Son Ye Jin) and what starts out as mutual empathy soon develops into love.
The Juice: This is indisputably the most highly-anticipated and most hyped-up Korean film of the year, thanks to its being top Korean star Yong Jun’s first celluloid project aster his popularity shot to an all-time high with his last movie, Untold Scandal.
That it co-stars the queen of wide-eyed innocence-cum-romantic films, Son Ye Jin, is another huge bonus.
From as early as February, when April Snow started filming in the quiet seaside town of Samcheok in Gangwondo, it already created a hugh stir.
Hordes of fanatical Japanese fans of Yong Jun even flew there to shadown their idol.
More headline-hogging followed in March when an owerwhelming 400 journalists and photographers from all over Asia turned up for the film’s first press conference and and in April, when 6,000 fans attended a first-of-its-kind mega-stars concert organised specially to film footage for the movie.
It’s filmed in director Hur Jin Ho’s usual sensitive style, so fans can expect lotsof beautiful scenery and tearjerking heartbreak as the two protagonists cope with betrayal, loss and love.
But the most anticipated scene has to be the love scene between Yong Jun and Ye Jin, which reportedly took nine hours to shoot.
Details are top secret, but the Korean media did report that it involves passionate kissing from the bathroom to the bed.
